Window Sequence
is made of nearly 10,000 sequins that are strung onto clear line in a rigid geometric structure that spans the end of the Bellevu-saal in Wiesbaden, Germany. The rectangular areas of sequins match those of four windows in the same large room.  The sequins make up areas of colour that echo that of the foliage outside. Like leaves, they flicker and move as someone walks past, or from the breeze through one of the open windows. Spotlights are positioned to shine on the sequins. As they reflect the light they appear to act like screens for glistening colour and light. This work was made during a four-month residency at the Kunstverein, Wiesbaden in 1996.
