FLOCK

Flock has been installed in a number of locations including the roof terrace of Dominic Berning Gallery, London and Damasquine Gallery, Brussels. It comprises a flock of one hundred plastic birds that are suspended on fishing line. They appear to float silently in mid-flight until a gust of wind blows them into action: wings whirring. They remain perpetually in suspended flight, caught amongst a labyrinth of line that stretches between television aerials. In the evening, the flock is bathed in a sunset pink glow. This work has also been shown outside at the Economist, London where the flock was suspended in a minimal aluminium frame box that measured 4mx4mx8m, and also inside at the Crafts Council, London, and Millais Gallery, Southampton. It also formed the basis for the larger scale installation Bird Watching.
